How time flies

Well Isla you have another cousin as of Thursday night at 10pm-ish! Made me think a bit, your Aunt Shana now has a less than week old baby, your Aunt Amie has 6 month old and here you are around a year and a half!

Little things like carrying you everywhere around the house are no longer necessary, you can pretty much feed yourself, you can entertain yourself for much longer stretches (thank god!) Other little things were so minute that I didn't realize them until I thought about it: asking you to turn away in the morning when I turn the lamp in your room, which you do almost instinctively now. I like how you don't cry as much when I drop you off at daycare, it's more of a forced attempt at crying where your face is more screwed up than a normal cry. You're much better at handing me your sippy up of milk on the morning drive than letting it sit on the car seat in the back while we're stuck in traffic!

It's amazing how quick these little changes happen and I didn't even notice them till I stopped to think about it.

Oh one last note! You're able to walk and chew at the same time so you're probably not going to be a blonde when you get older, your hair will probably darken :(

Virus and Pink Eye

Well let me just say this! The past few weeks have been interesting! We started off with you having some kind of virus which would wake you up every hour or so where you would then cry and fuss, finally falling back asleep. After that was all said and done, or so we thought, you developed what appears to be pink eye. Day care requested we pick you up because you're not allowed to be there if you have pink eye or liquid coming from your eyes...as long as they're not tears.

So, tomorrow, off to the docs again for yet another round of "is she blah blah blah? yes, well here's blah blah drug"

Halloween

Yesterday was your first official Halloween out and about. There was a parade at school for all the kids in their outfits so your mother and I came up to watch. We got there a little early and hung back to watch you eat your snack. You were having a fun time sitting there with your classmates munching on crackers and drinking milk. As the teachers got the kids cleaned up and ready, you spotted your mother through the window, unfortunately she wasn't fast enough to duck out of sight. After she looked back she saw you bawling your eyes out so we figured we'd better go in before you get worse.

Your mom, aunts, and Mima walked you around the neighborhood at first. You were wearing this little strawberry suite and hat. I joined later when your Mima replaced me on candy duty, which was probably for the best since I was just scaring the kids.

You've been taking steps more consistently over the past few days too! Standing by yourself, walking from the the couch to us or from the sliding glass door to us. You've been standing by yourself along with attempting to flip over, head first!
